Esther Ibanga and Khadija Hawaja, Nigeria

Two women, One cause

Our SAVE sisters Esther Ibanga and Khadija Hawaja are bravely taking forward the mission of combating violent extremism on the home front to create community cohesion. Appropriately, their ground-breaking collaborative movement has been featured in Per Concordiam, Journal of European security and defense issues, as a prime example of bridge-building to overcome the growing incidents of terrorism.
The co-spearheaded courageous efforts of Esther and Khadija are timely as Nigeria currently faces a crisis with three of its north-eastern states being called under state of emergency by the Nigerian government.
